The Gorman House Arts Centre c 1924, is the setting for Canberra's oldest art and craft markets. It’s also Canberra’s only markets open on a Saturday, so it’s well worth a look if you are in Canberra for the weekend or a for a longer visit. It is a truly lovely building with beautiful gardens and areas to sit down and absorb the atmosphere.

Only a few minutes walk away from the centre of Canberra, the markets feature many different styles of art and craft creations and supplies, including organic handcrafts. It has a huge selection of retro, new and second hand clothing as well as antique and modern bric-a-brac, furniture and keepsakes. It has an organic producers section, fresh food from all over the world, fantastic coffee.

There are lessons and tutorials available in the markets and everyone is encouraged to try their hand at producing their own piece of art or craft. Imported handcrafted goods from around the world including PNG, Lombok and Persia are available.
